Saw a mag article a while ago on kitbashing the Atlas Middlesex Manufacturing structure kit. Its a nice looking old brick factory/warehouse with real character. Walthers website shows it as backordered…is this kit out of production? Can anyone suggest a source for this kit.?

The article was in MRC - July 2009 - and I too have been looking for this. It is also out-of-stock at Atlas. We should probably send some email to Atlas asking these questions. I found one on the bay once, but $80 was a little too much for my blood.

Several of the large web stores (Hobbylinc, Tower Hobbies have it as coming in Mid February.
It’s not listed on the Atlas A-Z shipping list at all.
I started a thread on the Atlas Forum asking about it.

I built one of these kits from the first run for a friend’s module and it went together well. He was going to do the painting and weathering and I haven’t seen the results.
I might use Walthers modular components if I were going to do something similar again, but it will be nice to have the option of using the Atlas kit.
The prototype:
I bought it last year intending to make a mill, but it was too small. When I went back for a second kit to bash together, couldn’t get one, so now I’m working on combining a lot of Walthers modulars together (that is a very expensive way to go by the way). Not sure what I’ll do with it now.

Here’s an update for anyone interested…I ordered the kit directly from Atlas (www.atlassrr.com/mod1/index.asp). I received the kit today!
