Note that although the Delaware & Hudson didn’t buy any Century 420’s new, it acquired a dozen Lehigh Valley units when Conrail was formed in 1976, put temporary D&H reporting marks on them and ended up painting them in five different liveries. These all had low noses. The D&H also briefly leased some ex-Long Island C-420’s with high short hoods in 1976; they received D&H heralds on their cab sides and left the D&H in 1977.
