I got an Atlas N scale GP38 BN #2175 around 9 months ago.
It ran great , smooth and quiet. About 2 months ago it started
making these whining, noises. Since then it’s gotten louder.
What went wrong and what can I do to get back my nice quiet

Sounds like the locomotive needs servicing…Try cleaning and lubricating the gears.
