Mine are acting up. The motors are starting to squeal, anyone else experiencing this ?
My feeling is that they need a little maintenance starting with cleaning all parts.Depending on their degree of wear,they might have accumulated dirt on their moving components.It may even mean dismantling the loco to remove any dirt or grit that may be present.Squealing generally means some parts are running dry,thus in need of some lubrication,which isn’t hard to do.Using plastic safe oil,simply lube the end bushings of the motor…tiny droplets should do as excess lubing is not a good thing.I use lithium grease for the gears and then again,very little amount as you don’t want grease to reach everywhere,specially on wheels and track.There could be some other problem with these engines but I suspect this may be the cure.
