A set “from the 60’s” was listed on Ebay Thursday evening under the Marx subheading that is clearly not Marx. It is an Atlas #6122 with diesel switcher, track, 3 cars, all the boxes, and a Marx transformer. Thought some of you might want to take a look at it. I was unaware that Atlas produced O gauge stuff in the 60’s.
If I’m not mistaken Atlas did 2 rail back then not sure when they started 3 rail but want to say like late 70’s or mid 80’s would be the earliest. Of coarse I could also be 100% wrong on this lol
Yeah, that was when I was in my HO phase, so I was unaware of what was going on in O gauge.
Atlas 2-Rail Started in 1971 according to the Atlas O website.

They produced a scale boxcar and scale stock car and a scale extended version caboose. These were three rail compatible. They came with the larger flanges on the wheels and the larger couplers. I bought an L and N boxcar of theirs back then and I have it to this day. They also made an F9 diesel that was scale two rail.
