Atlas Rerailer

Hi , i have a question about Atlas code 83 reraler #519.

Are the plastic rerailer removable from the piece of track so i can put them on existing track on layout?

No.

Hi!

The unit is pretty much one solid piece - meaning I doubt you could take it apart without breakage. I no longer use them on visible portions of my layout, but do make good use of them in staging and tunnel areas.

When I did have them on the layout, I found that some “dirty” black/brown paint and some well applied plaster and foliage disquised them to reasonably pass for large roadway crossings.

No, they are molded together.

I am curious though, why would you want to remove it and leave bare rails? you could cut ties out of a regualr piece easier if you, say, wanted to make a track pit with bare rails.

Other way around I think - I think the OP wants to ADD rerailers without having to tear up a section of existing track.

Yep. You’re right I misread {or misunderstood} that.

Would be better to buy new rerailers and install them then. They are molded into and underneath the tracks.
