hi group. i am stripping/painting an atlas rs1 body. is there a safe and easy way to remove the light bars/number board gizmo’s without breaking them? i don’t want to use force. otherwise i guess i’ll tape over. thanks, mike.
With the shell up-side-down, mine just lifted up from the back, and then pull back.
I just finished painting one for a friend, and the light transmission bars lift out as gandydancer19 described: lift at the ´’bulb end’’ to clear the plastic nubs, then pull back to remove the headlight ’’lenses’’. To remove the number boards, use a non-pointed tool to push them, from the outside, into the bodyshell - these are usually a tight, fit, so take care that the tool doesn’t slip.

I have scratched/ damaged my share of these. If they are real stubborn and you feel you may wreck them, masking would be better. After painting and removing masking the "gasket"edge of the No. board can be touched up w/ a sharpie.
