I have dowloaded it no problems with spyware, but I find it a little confusing at first but be patient and learn the program before attemting designs.
for free, it’s very good.

Yeah, it’s good. Just be sure to register it so you can use all of it’s capabilities.
It’s clean, and it works just fine. It’s a bit limited in what it can do. Some people prefer some of the other free products, because they’ll do more for you, but if all you need is a very basic track planning program, this one will do.
I didn’t want to make a career of track planning, so a basic program like this is all I really wanted. Once the plan was down, I ended up modifying it a bit anyway, but the plan gave me a good start.
I just went for the download. I got Atlas RTS 7.0. It’s for Windows 95 and above. There’s no version available for the MAC, sorry. The download took about 30 seconds and the installation about half that. I’m on a cable modem, so I don’t know what the time would be on dail-up. I do know that when a friend and I downloaded MSN’s IE 6 SP1, it took me 5 minutes to download and 1 minute to install. It took him over 6 hours to download on dial-up and another 4 hours to install. And it was the same download for identical operationg systems. So depending on your service, it might take a little while. From what I can see of the program, you get components for O, HO and N scales. Looks to be pretty good for free.
Thanks. Maybe I’ll download it if my computer doesn’t die.
You might also try XTrkCad. Its free and at least for me is much more useable. http://www.sillub.com/

The Xtrccad looks good, but watch out for the popups when you’re downloading it.
