Atlas SD-24

I just purchased an Atlas Gold Series SD-24. It made one lap around my layout and died. I tried resetting it with the magnetic wand, but nothing happened. Has anyone out there had a similar experience? I guess I’ll be shipping it back to Atlas tommorow. Heartbroken is an understatement.[:(]

Hmm, sorry to hear about your disappointment. Atlas’s products for the most part are top notch. I hope for you that their customer service is well organized and efficient as well. Are you planning on getting your money back, or an exchange for another?

The warranty card stated that they would repair it, but I have to foot the bill for getting it to them. I have several Atlas engines on my layout, and this is the first trouble I’ve ever had out of any of their products. I consider them to be among the best in the hobby. Hopefully, they’ll treat me right.

I had this same problem with a U23B. I sent it to them(Due to the fact that the deadbeat on eBay didn’t want anything to do with it!)and they sent it back, rolling like a champ. Their CS is great, so I don’t think you’ll have a problem.

Thanks. I guess there’s always a cracked egg in every crate. It’s just hard to stand there and watch $200 worth of motive power stalled on the track on it’s maiden run.
