Atlas six-stall roundhouse question

Joining two roundhouse kits to make a six-stall structure, [1]do I shave off the raised bars meant for attaching the outside wall on the side I will be joining to the second kit, and [2] is there an extra support beam for the place where the two kits will be joined? I assume that the roof and end wall sections just butt together and fit without alteration. Also, [3] do I just glue the two bases together, or do they have to be altered in any way? Someone told me that extra parts are included, but there is nothing in the instructions to indicate that.

I’ve got an Atlas 3-stall roundhouse in HO. It did come with an extra support beam, and the instructions said it was for joining two kits together. You should have 3 of those, but you’ll only use 2 for the standard 3-stall construction.

As for the base pieces, I would imagine that they just butt together. I looked at mine, and the back walls just come to the edge of the base, so putting two together should fit without much adjustment.

Still, there may be things that will work better with a bit of trimming. Even simple kits like DPMs always need some shaving and cutting to get all the parts precisely together.
