Atlas Trainman HO scale 40-foot plug-door insulated boxcar
The models in the paint schemes listed here have been on the market for quite some time. A new run with new paint schemes plus a rerun of the Fruit Growers Express (RBNX reporting marks, lettering with serifs as applied into the 1950’s) are in a container Atlas expects to receive this month. (The FGE models with B&O reporting marks in the run already here and those with PC and WFEX marks in the run that’s coming have the sans serif lettering from the 1960’s.)
The full-sized cars these models are based on are similar to but by no means identical to the prototypes for easy-to-build kits Accurail has been making for years, including one for a Pennsylvania Railroad car lettered as to be returned when empty to Camden, NJ, which meant Campbells Soup.
Neither the Atlas Trainman nor the Accurail models have separate grab irons or ladders.
