They no longer list stuff on ebay and a many of their items no longer show up on their webstie. Last week they stopped accepting Paypal at checkout, and they’ve changed their phone service options too and you can no longer talk to a costumer service person, other than taking or making orders. Something seems fishy, and I’m glad I haven’t placed any recent or new orders with them.
I bought something from them recently. Got an email June 18th from Emily asking if my transaction went well. I haven’t checked back for anything from them, but if they closed up, they closed up quick.
I’ve purchased from them several times thru their ebay listing, last item 6/7. Always shipped quickly, never a problem. I see they still have their ebay store listing, but nothing posted for sale. Curious when you consider their huge volume of past sales.
Tryed to place order the other day, no one home! Could not e-order either so I e-mailed and asked (their logon was screwed up also), E-mail their boss and go the standard return but no person to talk to yet!!! Stange as I have money in hand.
Changes in E-Bay’s in what it charges for online stores might have some thing to do with the changes in the E-Bay store. According o my freind who has a E=Bay store they doubled the listing fees and insisted that you take PayPal and then raised the fees. He took down some of his slow selling items. If the listings and there site where connected and they close the E-Bay store it may have messed up their site.
They are also accessable through Amazon.com and have order feedbacks listed as recently as July 1, 2010. Besides tens of thousands of yoys and games listed, they have 4,860 items listed for trains and 3,355 listed for HO scale. It doesn’t sound as if they would close for vacation or any other reason but who knows with todays economy. Maybe the “Shadow” knows.
I fear they are going out of business, everything on their site is clearance and they now charge for shipping, can’t get them by phone, great sale at 50% off though!
Lets not start any rumors until ya have the facts guys! Being that its a slow period in the season and its around the 4th of July. They might of said that we would have an extened vacation for the holiday! Have ya tried thier website? What time did ya try them on the phone? If ya cant get it thru Atomic have ya tried Caboose Hobbies in Denver or 1st Place Hobbies out of Bluffton Indiana? Kevin
What I needed most is Ambroid Proweld so i bought 10 bottles from Sprue Brothers. When you have no stock but what you have on clearance at 1/2 off, what would you conclude, no phones either!
Same as I did. When I went to check out, I got a strange message about exceeding my monthy quota. Sent a trouble ticket to Customer Support with no reply. Sent an email, with no reply. Left a voice mail for the new order number and the check on order number and; guess what!; no reply. I also had money in hand, but they seem to not want it. If they are putting people on furlough for summer, then say so on your website. Sounds more like a ‘going out of business’ mode. Paypal and free shipping are not even mentioned on the website. Very sad! I had ordered from them three times before and was very pleased.
I placed an order on EBay that they could not immediately deliver (didn’t have the product). I eventually canceled the order. They agreed to the cancellation but did not issue a credit to my account until I (1) complained to the credit card company and (2) filed a claim with PayPal.
Thats to bad. I found them on Ebay and received follow up emails when I ordered asking if I was looking for anything else. Prices were always good and shipping was quick and free mostly. It has been a while though, and it sounds like I should shop elsewhere.
Darn!!!
They are or were a craft based store so I always did wonder about the train side of thier business as they always had limited stock.
FWIW, I just looked at my shopping cart on the website and it indicates my choices are all out of stock. I then went ot the inventory pages and selected 10 different locomotives and freight cars. All indicated out of stock.
I don’t know what that tells us, but it does show that somebody has updated the website over the last week. Does anybody live near the store in Fort Wayne and could actually check to see if they are gone?
