ATSF yellow/blue warbonnet vs “Superfleet” red/silver warbonnet?

So which ATSF paint scheme would work better on a SD70ACe or ES44AC, the 1970s+ yellow/blue warbonnet that ATSF applied to their spartan-cab freight locos up to the merger with BN, or the 1990s “Superfleet” red/siver warbonnet ATSF applied to safety cab Dash 8/9s, FP45s, GP60Ms and SD75Ms? Just wondering if BNSF ever decides to have their own heritage fleet like NS. IMO, though the red/silver warbonnet is a flashy paint scheme, it doesn’t age as well as the yellow/blue warbonnet, especially on GEs.

The red and silver with the black and yellow pinstripe Warbonnet paint scheme on an F7 is the only thing that makes a Dismal tolerable!

Lets go Really OLD School the Cat Whisker Scheme from the Original Diesel that Did it the FT. Complete with the vermillion red stripe between the Blue and Yellow and just the old Wagon Wheel Hearld only.

Just trying to image how ATSF’s original FT “cat whisker” scheme would look on a SD70ACe since it was originally designed for cab body F-units. At least modern mainline hood units have wide nose cabs:)

ATSF originally applied black with “zebra stripes” to their hood units in the 1940s and 50s, until they adopted a variation of the blue-yellow freight scheme with large “Santa Fe” billboard letting for hood units in 1960.

Oh, you just have to go with the classic red and silver “Warbonnet” paint scheme, pure classic Santa Fe, and pure" Hollywood" when you come to think of it. It’s contemporary, the New York Central grey with lightning stripes diesel paint scheme also struck me as perfect for the NYC, very New York City, very “Wall Street-Grey Flannel Suit-All Business.”

The blue and yellow looked good on FP45s. Same as a modern safety cab unit, really.

Forget the warbonnets, they didn’t really fit on hood units. Go back to basic black with white zebra stripes and lettering, which lasted until the SD24’s and RSD15’s and has been revived by PHL.

I think either locomotive would look sharp in Yellowbonnet.

The Blue & yellow warbonnets went on anything, including SSB-1200 endcab switchers, high nosed roadswitchers, CF-7 rebuilds and at least one slug. (the other slugs have the older C&O clone paintjobs w/ plain yellow ends)

Why not go with a Kodachrome scheme? Just to be different…

But seriously, the “super fleet” red and silver looks best with the wide nose locos.
