I have some Kato n scale passenger cars with detail pieces that need to be attached by the modeler (I guess that’s me); can anyone tell me what type of glue to use or if any glue is necessary?
I am new to the hobby, and haven’t learned what is probably most obvious to your experience models.
thx

Most of the detail pieces are easy to attach. Kato cars have holes for you to attach these small parts like brake wheels etc. Usually these fit in tightly and I don’t use any glue but, if you need to, a tiny bit of CA will suffice.
I was able to attach the detail pieces for my Kato P42 locomotive without using any glue (per the advice I received on this board). Everything has held just fine.
I’ve got the full set of twenty-four smooth side cars from the first run in the UP colors.
I needed no glue to attach the detail pieces.
The best advice i can give you is to work in an area that will allow to easily find the pieces you might drop. I was foolish enough to work in a carpetted area.
A good pair of tweezers will be a good investment if you don’t already have some.
The stantions for the antennas on the observation car and the dining car were the most involved of the detail pieces.
I hope this is helpful.
