Attaching Figures to Layout

What should I use to attach a figure to my layout? It is already sceniced, so it cannot leave a residue or anything.

Thanks,

I used woodland Scenics scenic glue to attach my figures to buildings platforms etc.

I guess it is really nothing more than white glue diluted {?} to a mixture and is relatively expensive compared to the plain white glue.

But I didn’t know that difference when I bought it at about $5 a small bottle.

Sometimes a railroad spike does the trick with the figure-base painted to match the scenery attached thereto.

I used Woodland Scenics “Accent Glue”. Apply a little to the feet of the figure, wait until it turns clear, then place on the layout. The figure can be picked up and placed elsewhere, too, and it leaves no residue on the layout.

The guy below has been trying to get into his car for ages: in fact, he’s so involved in the task that he never noticed that I changed the car several times. I’ve also placed him in other locales, without having to renew the application of glue, although it does eventually lose its tackiness.

Same goes for these folks - like extras in a movie, they can be placed anywhere.

It really depends on your desires. Personally, I don’t tinker with my scenery too much, so I just put a dab of Aleen’s Tacky Glue on the feet and plop them down. If I don want to move them, I just cut them loose with a hobby knife and repair the (very small) blemishes in the scenery.

Tack glue. You can get it at Michael’s. I use it also to hold things down on a board when I’m painting them. A little flick of a sharp knife and it lifts right off.

Aileen’s Tacky Glue for me, too. It’s a low-cost craft store item. It sets up quickly, dries clear, and holds forever if you don’t stress it. On the other hand, if you need to move a figure, it comes off easily.

I will have to try that. Right now, though, I think i will use a little bit of all-purpose adhesive chalk on the figure’s feet.

Any of the Woodland Scenics adhesive glues will work.

I did not have any luck with Allene’s.

I use a hot glue gun. The results are instanteous but just use a “drop” to avoid strings of dried glue/
