Can anyone give me advice on what is the best way to attach ground throws to 2" foamboard? Will some caulk hold the ground throws in place? I thought of doing this but it seems as if the throws would not stay in place for very long. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
We just discussed this a few weeks ago…
I use a 3/4 inch thick pine block. I cut a pocket in the foam so the block fits tight, then put caulk in the pocket and push the block in. I haven’t had a problem in several years.
I attach them with full strength white glue and drive 1 mm 0.5" long wire nails through the holes on the sides. Sometimes I use cork roadbed under them. So far they have stood around for 1 year. It helps to wet the nail in white glue so it sticks to the foam.
Gorilla glue, with track nails used to clamp the throw in place.
I have to vote for the Gorilla Glue !
This stuff is great when working with porus materials!
With the plastic on the ground throws - using a course file to rough up the bottom will allow the Glue to attach to the throw!
