Attaching Window Glazing?

I have some Ngineering .005" glass to cut to size and glue into miniature windows.

Would canopy glue work well for this? Any tips on gluing it in? Note that I’ve painted the interior of he window frames with a Floquil water based paint.

Thanks in advance.

I use Elmers’ Squeez 'N Caulk for this. Place some in a small bottle, add and equal volume of water, shake to mix. Then you can use a small brush to touch some of the thinned cement to the edge of the window, and capillary action will do the rest. If any gets on the glass, it dries clear.

I use canopy glue for my window glazing. Be careful to keep it off the surface, but after it sets up you can remove any residue with a toothpick. I like to do that an hour or so after application, before it really hardens.

You might want to consider Microscale ‘Micro Kristal Klear’ as a possibility. It dries clear and in fact it can be used for window glazing of small windows on its own. Excess glue can easily be removed with a toothpick before it sets up hard. I have used it on PolyScale acryilic paints with no problems.

When used as a window glazing agent on its own it does not form perfectly smooth ‘glass’. It tends to be thinner in the middle of the window and thicker towards the outside edges so it causes some visual distortion. However, used sparingly as an adhesive with the .005 glass I think it would work quite well. Obviously this is conjecture on my part (I have more opinion on the subject then experience![swg]) but if I was to use real glass for windows the Microscale stuff would be my first choice as an adhesive because it is clear and it is easy to remove any excess.
