Attending Events at the NRMA Convention in Detroit

Brainless question for you folks.

I would like to attend some of the prototype events at this year’s convention. In particular, I would like to go to the CN Moterm & Dispatch Center tour http://www.nmra.org/2007/prototypetours.htm#Prototype_Tour_Descriptions

How does one do that? Do I have to register? It list 2 tours, 1 which is sold out. Fine, I’ll go for the 2nd one. What does it cost? I’ve been all over the web site with no luck. At least I think I’ve been all over the web site.

Any help would be appreicated

Here is the general web site for the convention http://www.nmra.org/2007/

My understanding is that you have to be an NMRA member and registered with the convention to attend any functions except the National Train Show which is open to the public the last day or two. I suggest you email them and ask.

Yes you must be a member of the N.M.R.A. to register and participate in the convention. I have never been to a national convention but Division 8 hosted the Mid Central Region convention just two weeks ago and it was a blast. Super clinics from some great local modelers plus Tony Koester and Jim Hediger, it was my first but it will not be my last I hope. If you go to the national web site and scroll down to the Worlds Greatest Hobby in the left hand margin you will see an icon for the national meet just above it that will take you to all the info you need to get registered.

khammer,

Starting with the link Paul provided, click on “Registration” in the upper-left corner of the group of selections, then on " To view or print the Registration Forms click here."

One-day registration (for Tuesday 07/04/07) = $ 55
NMRA Annual membership (no Scale Rails mag) = $ 36
P3141 CN Moterm & Dispatch Center tour = $ 35
Total = $126

P.S. I signed up for the Ambassador Club a year or so ago and am already on-board for the CN tour, as well as a few of the others. Should be a week of great model railroading!
