OK - several of us have 5 stars.
Just to protect my standing in the family, I want to know who my real competitor is. I have never posted on anything but the Trains Magazine Forum. I know some of the rest of you post on Model Railroader and Classic Trains, etc. Is there anyone here with me at five stars that has not posted on another forum?

Oh no, the forum is a family not a competittion. We are here to help, advise, and share. On the Model Railroad forums people are always asking questions and other people are leaving answers (just like what happens in this forum) but these answers are to help with problems people might be having with their models, layouts, or related issues. A good example of the help that can be found in this forum, as you well know, is Nora’s thread–that we refer to as the “Stupid Question Thread”.
Many of our forum family members post in more than one thread. Try it, you’ll like it.
Might I suggest that you stop by the Classic Trains forum and take my “Favorite Railroad Decade” poll. If you do, please leave comments. I am sure that everyone there would welcome you as you grace them with your presence. [;)]
Jim - I barely have time to do this forum. I would love to hit all the forums just for interest, but unless someone tells me there is something on the picture of the day, I don’t even go there. I am constantly fighting time and work and a very slow puter.
That’s why I said competitor - since I am at a distinct disadvantage - but not by choice!

I know I don’t have 5 stars (yet) but I thought I’d reply to this.
Almost all of my posts are on the Model Railroader forum and only about 50 of my posts are/were off topic (like this!). I left the forums a couple months ago and just started to post again in the last month.

99% of my posts have been on this forum. My posts on the Classic Trains or the Model Railroader forums are as rare as a GE locomotive making a complete run without breaking down.[}:)]

With one exception, I havent posted on any of the other forums…
Although I have never felt the need to compete for numbers, and I doubt you do either.
So your answer is yes, you have made the majority of postings and replies, and asked the most interesting questions…
After all, I doubt Wabash would wonder about “yellow thingies”[:D]
(and he still has the mirror somewhere, for back up moves…yeah, right)

Forums are not a competition to see how much drivel one can disseminate. I could care less about post count…it is post content that counts.
I agree although it is always cool to get a new star.

Forum, look up to YOU,and a few other people to keep
things in hand,keep them going,etc. PLEASE don’t feel
like you are in competition with anyone.

Mookies postings and question are more than worth the disc space.
Funny, intelligent, silly and buried in choclate, much more interesting that the stuffy, narrow minded attitude that this forum should only be about a certain section or select members paticular version of subject.
The instant we decide to limit the quanity, quality and content of any posting here is the very instant this forum becomes no less than a copy of the rivet counters forum, where they argue the size, shape and count of rivets on a paticular hopper.
Nuts to that, this is a whole lot more fun.
So bring on the choclate cakes, uniheads, broom closets and yellow thingies, as much and as often as you can…
