The train show that I mentioned yesterday isn’t happening this month. Apparently, the newspaper messed-up. It’s actually in OCTOBER, later this year.

This is a fairly good size show, based on a past visit. More vendors and fewer layouts than last weekend’s Urbana show. Unlike Urbana’s free show, they do charge admission. However, there was a pretty good selection of values at the vendors when I visited, so no big deal unless you’re bringing the family. I recall finding a P2K D&RGW SD I’d been looking for – only about $30, as I remember.

The exit off the westside I-55 bypass you want is to westbound Route 9. It’s the big white building on the hill to the northwest of this interchange. You go west on Route 9 to the first or second light, then turn north (right) to go up the hill to the exhibition hall. Lots of free parking (at least it was free when I visited.)
