August Coffee Pot (17yrs) - Breaking fast with Taylor Ham, egg and cheese Kaiser roll sandwiches!

Breakfast with a distinct Jersey flavor! Youse got a problem wid dat?

So we rolled in around 9:45 from VA: made it home in one piece, did the trip in 6 hours and 41 minutes, with 4 stops. 395.2 miles. Good to be out of the car. Have a good night!

No problems here. But can I get mine with provolone?[dinner]

Overcast and 63 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. I’m off this weekend, but might head down to Springfield to catch my train crossing the newly reconstructed 28 bridge. Yesterday volunteered at the chapter’s Cumberland Railroad Museum. The N-scale layout I fixed has been running fine. When my oldest grandson visits, may use him to do a “promo” video for them.

Youngest Princess is buying her first car. Ford Taurus (I think) with a ton of miles. FifeDad holding his breath…[X-)]

Nah, no friggin’ problem!

You want I should bring da cawfee?

Whatever floats your boat.

Good morning folks!

Sunny and a cool 96 on tap today - [8D] - maybe some showers late? [st] In a surprise twist - all the predictions of 100 have disappeared from the 10 day forecast.

Finished up the El Cam smog system vacuum controls and other items. A few things to do today for the windshield install in the morning. Have to slightly modify and finish installing the nylon clips (about 15) that hold the windshield trim pieces in place.

Banks and Chief - continued prayers!

Thanks Spanky. Favor. Modify it to show 17 years. Thanks. Good to see what folks like food wise.

I’m here. Woke up around 4:30 with a chill. Knew my blood ox was low. Hard breathing. Took a treatment and crashed. On aux O2 for a while. Will get through this.

Enjoy your week.

Howdy all!

Keep the faith Chief!!! As my wise old aunt used to say to me: “This too shall pass.”

For those not aware, this is a unique item throughout New Jersey at diners and bagel shops. We usually do these sandwiches when we have a breakfast tailgate for a noon Rutgers game - fresh rolls from Calandra’s (their bakery is on the way for one of my partners in crime), Taylor Ham slices on the griddle over the grill, as much scrambled eggs as you can fit topped with American cheese slice(s). Of course the rolls are toasted before the ingredients are added.

It’s funny, back in the, I believe, 2016 Rutgers Football season, we ended up having 5 of our 7 games be at noon. By the 4th tailgate we were just tired of doing a breakfast tailgate. Now, with the dearth of college football up until now, I’d welcome that in a heartbeat.

So unless things change, our first game is at 6:30 PM on Thursday, Sept. 2nd before Labor Day. I’ve taken the day off; as of now the tailgate starts at noon. Of course, if the weather is going to be beastly that may change, but it’s unlikely. And the possibility exists that if someone twists my arm, the tailgate may start earlier. Can’t wait!

Have a good one!

Thanks Spank.

I’m here. Blood Ox down so start from beginning and rebuild. Think I have a little congestion. So, not breathing as deep as was. Doing “maintenance”. Shower, shave [hardly no beard after 3 days] and some things. will go slow. Slept good.

Wiley and I were just sharing a Moon Pie. Cheese toast for breakfast. Only thing that does not taste like cardboard. That and Sunkist orange drinks.

Maybe watch some DVR’d shows or Netflix.

Enjoy your day.

Mornin’ guys and doll(s). Pleasant weather along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Wifey has some kind of stomach bug, so Alexis and I did the babysitting over the middle princess castle. I did some gardening while there, as the new parents don’t have the time, nor the energy.

Good Afternoon!

Nice here today and will be till about Thursday, then the heat and humidity will return. What do you want,August?

Chief hang in there. Wonder how Banks is holding up and where is Shake & Bake?? [:^)]

Did the first clean out on the moped tank and was not happy so gave it another 24 hours to soak. Will be draining it soon then filling it with a gas and Marvel mistery oil mix to seal it up from rusting. It will have to do from there. Got a new petcock, spark plug and carb gaskets on the way. Still got to get the new fuel line. That stuff will be next.

WOW what the heck is with gas prices, got to love it, they raise the prices just because they can! Who said regulating big Biz was a bad idea??? [soapbox]

We went to Walmart today and most the shelves were empty???

Guess I will head to the shed! [;)]

Afternoon folks!

Cloudy and cooler at 84 - we got over 2" rain last night in a 45 min deluge - wowzers! Pool is full and lawn sprinklers are off!

So it was a perfect morning for the El Cam windshield install! That is done and checked off the list! Have ordered an $8 install/removal tool from O’Reilly’s Auto as the wipers have a very heavy spring and I cannot get them to reinstall (they were heck to get off - wish I had known about the tool a few months back).

Banks is very slowly recovering. Texted with him this morning. Turns out my other friend is not in hosp for COVID - actually pneumonia. Prayers for all!

KEV - assume you filled tank to the brim with the Evaporust - works best that way. Marvel oil is a good idea!

Roy, I got my Cast Blast and the can looks nothing like the one pictured but it seems to be the right stuff 16-48 New lable I guess.

Yes I filled the tank to the top both times and when I drained it today it looked great. I think the second flush was a good idea. After the first time there was still a film of light rust inside the tank. After flushing it today and blowing it out I added 8oz of rubbing alcohol to the tank and stuck the air gun in there to blow it around inside the tank to remove any leftover moisture.

So then I put 80 gallons worth of Marvel (32oz) into two gallons of fuel and topped off the tank. Should be enough oil in that. Later I will drain it out and mix it through the mower a little at a time till those 2 gallons are gone. If there is any moisture still in the tank it will settle to the bottom of the tank and flush out with the oil, gas mix when I drain that out. [;)]

Off to ACE for fuel line and back home to piddling around. [(-D]

Howdy all!

Making it though the day, mostly just reacting to stuff at work right now. Not getting anything really done unfortunately.

Exchanged some texts with my nephew last night: he deployed over the last couple of days with his armor division to Poland. He and his wife got married back on Valentine’s Day: she’s now by herself out in Kansas for 9 months. At least she’s starting vet school next month, so that will keep her occupied. I told him anything he or she needs that we can do, just to give us a call.

Have a good one!

KRM how did you get carb gaskets for something that old and rare?

Hot as it always is here in summer. 100

Today is the 1st time back to Vintage senors group at the big church I go to. Really glad it’s finally back. Was 120 avg. attendance i expect that to be way down as many are still scared.

Yes shake & Back chime in.

Gas is approching $5 in this communist state.

Dennis, Just like Trains, slot cars and all other things. There are Moped nuts out there. [(-D] Found some forums and found suppliers for parts. It is french built by Motobecane for Wards and has a french Gurtner carb. The gaskets were easy (but not sure of fit till I get it) it was finding the petcock that was harder. It is Wards Riverside only but found two places that sell an aftermarket one that fits. [;)]

Got everything but the parts I ordered so just waiting till it all shows up to see if it will Run again?

Nice weather here, youngest grandson wants to come out for a few days to ride his dirt bike and get away from home before school starts. I said sure! He can help me with the Moped. [swg]

Mornin’ all!

Well my little boy turns 16 today. Dear god where did the time go? And my “little” boy is probably about 3 inches taller than me at this point. And still growing.

We’ll have a small celebration tonight, then do something more extensive on Saturday.

Have a good one!

You’re not kidding! Lady Firestorm and I are married 44 years. The wedding seems almost like yesterday, and the only reason I say “almost” is because of those we’ve lost along the way. Where do the years go?

Afternoon all!

Sunny and started at a cool 72 or so and high today only 88! [8D]

Takin’ it easy for the next few days…time for lunch!

DJ - congrats on Tyler’s 16th!

44 !, you guys are almost newlyweds. Ours will be 56 yrs come Oct. and SJ has the BetterHalf and I beat. [:D]

It is getting almost to expensive to drive my p/u, the ARCO where I buy gas is always the cheapest in town at $4/gal for regular.

Well, congratulations Doug!

And the last time gas was $4 a gallon here was several years back when it was nuts all over the country. There’ll be hell to pay here if it happens again. Right now it’s around $2.95.
