Aurora Postage Stamp Bus System

I have an old Aurora Postage Stamp N gauge bus. This has sloted track the bus runs on. I don’t have any wiring information for the set. Can I get some help on the wiring for the track and also for the switches used for the bus bypass track. The wires are colored “BLUE” & “BROWN”.

Thank you

Joe PRR,

I believe this may be what You are talking about. Made by Faller for Aurora. If so contact Faller to see if they can help You:

BTW: Send me a Philly steak sandwich…please. Preferably at a joint at the docks near the Walt Wittman bridge. LOL.

Thank you Frank. Sorry about the cheese steak. I live outside Philly.

Click the little American flag at the very top to get the site in English - unless your German is a lot better than mine.

Gotta’ be, wit…of course. LOL.

Joe, the Aurora Postage Stamp bus is an old product, no longer in production.

David K. Smith, an Aurora Postage Stamp trains collector, is a member of the TrainBoard forum. To contact him, you would need to register as a member of the forum. Back in April, 2013, he offered to provide a copy of the service manual to a fellow forum member. It seems that this would be a likely source for your needed information.

Be sure to check out the various links to Aurora Trains that are provided on the above link.

Hope this helps.

Edit Note: I typed “aurora postage stamp” in the eBay search box and came up with some interesting stuff including the Instructions and Service Manual for the Bus.

Thank you for the information.

Joe

Thank you Rich. I went to the trainboard link and a lot of good information. I went to the ebay link and found what I think I need.

Joe

Joe, I noticed on the eBay link that the photo of the instruction manual showed the wiring setup. [Y]

That was probably, in and of itself, the answer to your question.

Rich

Ah, the old overhead trolley trick of using the overhead as a common so you can run multiple cars under independent control. I was wondering why they would feed the power to the track then tap off the controller. That diagram explains it all.

Colors used were kind of odd, at least to US typical practice. I have an old Postage Stamp N scale set, and the terminal track had euro style spring terminals color coded red and blue for the track power. I thinkt he brown and yellow as for accessories.

The set I have has a connector on the power feed to the track. You would plug this into the terminal track and connect the other end to a power source. The wire color is the same as in the picture. I don’t recall if this end had connectors or not. My father had this set many years ago. He passed and I got the set. I model HO gauge.

When I was a kid I wanted the postage stamp train the worst way.

But I had a large Lionel layout and “you got enough trains” was the answer…[xx(]

Jim, it is never too late to pick one up.

Here is a nice little setup for sale on eBay.

Thanks for the link Rich, I appreciate it.

We tend to want what we cannot have. Then when it becomes attainable, we question if it is now that important. [swg]

“Yes”. [(-D]
