I’ve a number of books written by Bob Hayden in my train library. I never seem to hear about him anymore and a quick google did not reveal much. Is he still active and writing about trains?

He is still active, had an article on stretching a Bachmann On30 caboose in the Jan/Feb issue of the Narrow Gauge & Shortline Gazette. I made a version of the model myself, after seeing the original in person at last year’s National Narrow Gauge Convention in Durango, Co. He had it in operation on his portable On30 layout. I also attended a clinic of his at the event.
