My grandfather was inventor. Had inventions patented. Was involved in patent infringement suit in 1931-1932. Looking for any persons with knowledge of this case, George W. Gerlach vs. Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway company. Any help would be great Inventions were 1,191,414 and 1,303,192 patented in 1917 and 1919 (I think.) It took 3 years and 2 years once he submitted the paperwork to the patent office to get his Patents. He believed U.S. Gov’t took his patents eminent domain and went after them for royalties he believed he was owed. I feel there is a cover-up of this entire case. Men in high offices in Washington, D.C. kept putting him off; he talked to President(s) Hoover, Coolidge, ICC top man, and Comptroller General top man. Someone out there knows the true story. Signal engineers, UP people, the story is out there to be found out. Earl Vincent, Senator from Iowa in the House of Representatives took my grandfather’s Petition for payment of royalties owed him to Congress , which was recorded in the Congressional Record, Committee on Claims, in the Second Session of 70th Congress of United States assembled in the District of Columbia, filed 19th day of February 1929, No. 12325, recorded in Congressional Record at page 3809. There are links, just need the people who still are alive to share what they know from that time period.
