Can anybody provide the approximate average speed limits on each of the subs on CN’s north line ( ex Cdn Northern) and CN’s south ( ex GTP) line between Edmonton and Portage la Prairie for both passenger and freight? What is the actual avg train speed?
Get a employee Time Table for the territories - that will give you the exact speeds that are permissible and all the locations that are even more restriced.

Might be able to find a slightly older one on the net. They really don’t change ‘that’ much between issues - mostly a change in the names of the Division’s officials.

Here’s a 2005 CN Prairie Sub-Region timetable. The Rivers (Winnipeg-Melville) and Watrous (Melville-Biggar) Subdivisions are the CTC-signalled mainline, while the Gladstone (Portage La Prairie-Dauphin), Togo (Dauphin-Canora), Margo (Canora-Humboldt), Aberdeen (Humboldt-North Battleford), and Blackfoot (North Battleford-Vermillion) Subdivisions are the non-signalled (Occupancy Control System, or OCS) Prairie North Line.
Here are the remaining two, the Wainwright (Biggar-Edmonton) and Vegreville (Vermillion-Edmonton) Subdivisions.
