Axion supplies composite ties to Australia
Those ties are already manufactured from recycled plastics found in the waste chain. I suppose they could be recycled again when they reach the end of this service life.
So now when these plastic ties wear out, will they be able to shred and recycle them? That could be a great reduction in waste and cleanup costs!

I remember one story one of my managers had. When working in Western Australia for a railroad then owned by an American company a senior manager from the US at a meeting said “ya’ll considered using concrete ties,” to which everyone just gave him dumb looks as at the time there were more concrete ties in use in the Western Australia than in the whole US.
