axle length

I would like to convert my AHM rolling stock from plastic wheels to metal wheels. They are HO scale. I have discovered there are different axle length. Mine measure 0.970 but in shopping the internet for replacements there is no mention of axle length. I ordered a small amount of Intermountain Railway 33 inch standard HO. Does any fellow railroaders have any info that would help me with this matter. Thanks in advance. rrepasky

BASICALLY axles (in HO) come in 2 lengths - NMRA (US) and NEM (European Metric).
Both have +/- tolerances.

http://www.reboxx.com/wheelsets.htm is the only one to catalog by axle lengths. Their catalogued wheelset for AHM is p/n 33-1-0.990 .

NWSL is haing a ‘half price’ sale on nickel plated brass sets.If they have what you want, that would be my first choice. A phone call would tell you.
