I’m looking for an A-B-A set of B&O and C&O F-3s or similiar engines. I would like for them to be TMCC and be either all powered, or at least 2 of the three be powered.
I’ve seen the Lionel version of both and have my eye on a B&O A-B-A set and a A-A C&O set. The problem I have with the Lionel versions are they are A pwd B non-pwd and A non-pwd. .
Anyone seen the K-Line version or the Weaver Version? Thoughts on either?
The K-Line version may be hard to find new, would be very nice though, not sure if MTH makes a version of the F-3’s or not. Have you tried Williams electric trains, you will have to add TMCC though.
Don’t know anything about Weaver engines, have had some problems with couplers on Weaver freight cars in the past(about 9 years ago, couplers look like Lionel but cause everything behind the Weaver car to derail).[2c]

I found an A-A B&O set by K-Line new… I would like a B-Unit to go with the A-A, will the Weaver B Unit look OK or should I just settle for the A-A? What about the PWC Lionel B-Unit?
Check out “Justtrains.com” , I think they still had the latest version of the K-Line B&O ABA. The A’s are both powered but, if memmory is correct, the B unit only has sound and smoke. They also came with K-Line Cruise.
The C&O by K-Line, ABA, didn’t come with TMCC and had the truck mounted growlie motors instead of the Vertical W/flywheel.

That is where I had located the engines I had in mind. I hadn’t found the K-Line C&O version, thanks for that info.
I guess I’ll have to look for the Weaver C&O engines…

I’m looking at the Weaver FA-2 A-B-A engines in C&O paint scheme, would also consider the B&O if I can’t get the K-Line FA-3s.
Any thoughts on the Weaver engines?
I can tell you that when i was looking for k-line f3 i was surprised by the large amounts of them. Nicholas smith trains in Broomwall has both roadnames so does train world they cost around 450 for an aba set. I truly love mine they are one of my favorite engines.
