Since the docksiders had electric headlights they must have had generators. none of the pictures I have seen contain a generator. There is a square hollow looking tube in front of the stack & was wondering if the generator could be inside of it. Any help?
I have an O scale dockside and it looks like the generator is on top of the fuel tank behind the engineer’s rear window.

No seriously, it’s on the back end, on top of the fuel oil bunker, below the engineers rear window. The only picture of it I could find was this picture of a brass model
The tube going up to the roof is for the steam exhaust.
The tube in front of the stack is the water fill.
