B&O EMD GM50

I am in the process of modeling the B&O GM50 anniversary diesel and need to know if it was a GP40 or GP40-2.

What paint do you plan on using for the gold? I have the microscale decals and plan to model the beauty some time. I was hoping to buy one in brass, but now there are some half decent plastic -2s, without having to rework the Athearn BB and drive.

Just wish that Atlas or P2K would release a GP40-2 in a later phase.

Chessie System used PONTIAC AZTEC gold on GM50. But gold paint winds up looking too bright. I’ve used Floquil BRASS on shells with good results. It has more of a brownish hue, that works well.
