B&O Passenger cars - Rapido?

I’m looking for a set of 8-10 B&O Streamlined Passenger cars. To use with my new Bachmann EM-1 for excursion passenger service.

I found the one’s that Rapido made, but I only see two of them, Baggage and a 10-5 Sleeper. Found them on ebay.

Did Rapido make other B&O cars? Or just those two?

Any other suggestions?

What about getting the 2 Rapido cars, and then buy some Walthers Streamliners, and paint and decal them?

Michael,

Rapido has made lots of B&O passenger cars in blue/gray.

Check their web site. You can download a spreadsheet of all of their passenger cars, past and present. They made B&O coaches with several different numbers, just to mention a few.

In the most recent run, it looks like they only made one sleeper and several baggage cars.

Con-Cor recently acquired Branchline and has recently offered a set of four 65’ B&O cars in blue/gray with lighted and detailed interiors, metal trucks and wheels, high quality body mounted couplers. A real step up from the older 72’ passenger cars from Con-Cor.

I don’t know if you are a rivet counters Michael, bear in mind although these Rapido cars are beautiful, they are Canadian prototype painted in foobi US colors.

I believe Atlas took over the Branchline products line of passenger cars? I think the 65’ Con Cor cars you are referring to are of Con Cor’s own molds of PRR M.U. cars that were originally used in southern New Jersey.

Thanks Rich. I’m leaning towards the Rapido cars, as I prefer the streamliners over the heavyweights.

I didn’t know Rapido’s were Canadian prototypes. I’m not a rivet counter.

But, question, If I get the Rapidos, and since I can’t find any other B&O streamliners. Would they match OK with the Walthers Streamliners?

My thought is combine the Rapido with the Walthers. And paint and decal the Walhers.

What y’all think?

Oh yeah, that’s right. What the heck was I thinking?

I guess the term Con-cor Branchline threw me. When Con-Cor says Branchline, what are they talking about. Ha ha. Maybe Atlas will sue Con-Cor over this.

Here is a recent forum thread on these cars.
