B&O Railroad Museum forges partnership with Japanese museum

They seem to have some great rail museums in Japan.

Thats cool, maybe B&O can have an 0 series ShinKansen at the museum for awhile.

This is and should be just a railroad site, about trains, for trains period.

The JR East Museum in Saitama is well worth a visit. Their rolliong stock is refurbished and inside the museum. (No rusting equipment anywhere.) The exhibits are informative and cover a wide range of topics including a hands-on Shinkansen simulator.

I hope the partnership drives traffic to both museums and the B&O has many things they can learn from the JR.

Gee, how nice it will be to see equipment that helped their war effort that helped killed our soldiers in WWII!!!

Mr. Dudko: Tell that to the thousands of relatives who lost love ones in the war. Especially the sneak attack at Pearl H. The Japs broke international law about going to war.

Please mr pack give up your bigatry

The Omiya Railway Museum, Saitama City, is located in metro Tokyo, so an important institution is partnering with the B&O Museum. http://www.railway-museum.jp/en/ Good luck to both! Re the comments on history, this veteran says: the world has had war for 5,000 years now. Let’s try peace and international collaboration for a while. If that doesn’t work, we can always go back to war.

I do hope the B & O museum take advantage of this. The link up between the Omiya museum and the NRM in the UK happened a few years back but there is little evidence of any transfer of the collection the UK. The 0 series Shinkansen driving car was in York before the link up.

All 3 places are great museums and I have been fortunate to go to all 3. As others have said all the Omiya collection is under cover along with most of the UK collection. I was somewhat dismayed to see the state of some of the collection in Baltimore.

As usual the U.S. museum as all other things will end up losing something due to left wing “political correctness” and we will give them something for nothing and lose a good piece of American history. We have been patsy’s for years and always end up in the hole.
