I’m modeling a B&O branch line in central Ohio. I have a number of pictures, including some from Willard yard that show low level switchstands with 4 concave dished faces, 2 green and 2 yellow. I found this picture on line
Thanks for the reply Alex. I thought the Tomar switchstand looked promising also, so I bought one. As you point out, the colors are wrong, but so is the shape. The faces are flat, not dished and the jewels are way too big, they take up most of the face; there’s not much left to paint even if I wanted to. I also can’t see how I could change the red jewel to amber. It may be the closest thing available, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask if anyone knows of something better.
I also would have to go w/ the Tomar products, they tend to be more inclined to the prototype B&O signaling and would have figured to also include the sw stands.
Not sure if those discs are easily changed, but replcing w/ “sequins” and adding the jewel/ lenses may be an option. Small sequins have the size and shape you are looking for. I’ve only used them for lamp shades but may be worth a look.
I’ll have to take a closer look at the NJ International part. It looks like what I want but I’d like to hold one in my hand first…if it was just lighted. Thanks.
