Jim, glad you enjoyed that additional photo. I hoped you would like it when I posted it.
Mike, good luck and remember that you can also to trim it if you need to for a better fit.

I really like that building but still have not figured out if altering the depth will make it look odd. If it were background it would be no problem, but it would sit mid-front across from the passenger station and would have a street with buildings behind it. I’m in a do-loop, but will need to do something soon.

Mike, there is not much more than can be said at this point. It is not an inexpensive kit, so it will be a costly experiment.
My sense after first considering this project is that it can be done, although not easily. It will require some trimming and patching and filling, perhaps, but it’s worth a try.

Have you tried the old-fashion method of photocopying the building sides (nowadays, I suppose you can take dead-on straight images of the sides with your digital camera/smartphone and print those), gluing the (hopefully 1:1 scale) images to cardboard, and making a mock-up of the proposed new building on the layout location? Yeah, since you’re not going for a quality card-stock building you may have to tweak the actual results in your mind’s eye, but still it should give you the general Yay or Nay concept.
I don’t recall you mentioning doing that.
