Hi guys, I was wondering if someone couuld lead me in the right direction. I recently bought a vintage (early 70’s) Bachman HO scale trainset that seems pretty unique. I haven’t been able to find out anything about it online. It’s called Bachman Daredevil Thrill Show train/stuntcar set. It’s essentially a basic HO scale set with a pretty cool additional feature. It has a car race track that is functional along with the regular oval train setup. The set includes 5 stuntcars. These cars work on a seperate track and perform stunts, such as jumping over the moving train and also do a loop . There is also a seperate drag race track in the setup where the cars race to the finish, then deploy parachutes. The set includes Locomotive , boxcar, trailer boxcar for the stuntcars, and caboose along with the 5 stuntcars, 4’ X 4’ color mat and cardboard stands etc. It sort of seems to be Evil Knevil inspired, with the paint scheme of the trainset being white with red and blue stars. I bought the set at a swap meet, but it had never been used. I’ve never seen a set quite like this. The original box is pretty tattered but the set is complete and everything appears to be in it’s original packaging. I’ve looked online for info on Bachman trainsets, but there isn’t very much online. I’ve tried to post a pic of the set , but it doesn’t seem to work. any info on this set would be appreciated.
Hi there,
I came across your posting when I was searching for information on the same exact set of my own. My mom saved it for me from the time I was one, in 1984 until about two months ago. The entire set up is in mint condition(the boxes inside with the contents have not even been opened). However, trying to find information on this set is proving to be difficult. Any chance that you found any information on it? If so, I would greatly appricate any help at all!
Thanks,
Tom
