Need a new motor for Bachman 4-4-0. Tender drive. ( HO )
Any suggestions welcome.
Original motor died from excessive end float, windings shorted out on back plate…

Call the Bachman parts line and ask for a guy named Tom.(try not to mess with the girls that answere the phone.They only know part#'s) He got me some parts for mine. Said he has a bunch of older used stuff he keeps around that’s not in the computer.
You might find something after market to modify and use. That motor looks like some that I’ve seen in older slot cars.
Like loather said, you can contact Bachmann and see if they have replacement motors.
Another option is Proto Power West’s small Mashima motor (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/116-40323). The 1.5mm shaft should be the right size, and even though the motor’s small, it should be powerful enough for a 4-4-0. I used one of these motors to repower my Bachmann Lafayette, and it’s been an excellent runner ever since.[:D]
