Bachman Spectrums

I was wondering 1. Does anyone kitbash Bachman Spectrum/Plus models or do you just go for the Athearn Blue Box.

And 2. Does anyone know of what to do with the loud squeek that can come from the Bachman Spectrum (specifically the first runs)

I have a bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 Im thinking about kit bashing into a GN 2-8-0. Also have a spectrum 4-8-2 trying to figure out what to do with.

I have all diesels. six of them that are Bachman (spectrum) I think I wll just run them as is and stick to the ABB unless someone knows of practical approaches to kitbashing one of these. Usually I am a pretty ambitious guy but I don’t want to overdo it.
