Just got a Bach GP38 from EBay. One of the cheaper ones with the cheap Bach DCC decoder in it. Do I have to go into it and physically rewire anything to run it on DC for right now? Don’t want to just put it on the track and chance smoking it.[:0]
REALLY surprised at the level of detail on it. Only paid $28 with S/H. Let you know how it runs later.

It should run with no problem. I’ve onle heard of one person saying that thiers had a little squeel to it, but was fine otherwise.
does it mention dual mode decoder anywhere in the instructions or on the box? If it does then go for it, if it’s DCC ready then it’s DC until you pop a decoder in.

Bachmann was saying that they are dual mode decoders. So you should be good to go. I remember asking that exact question on their forum when they first starting coming out with DCC-equipped engines.

Yea it’s duel mode. I put it on the track and it works fine in DC. Runs pretty good. Good detail, no loud growl, UGLY golden head and tail lights! Gonna have to change that!
How come I have 4 Bach deisels and the coupler heights are all different???
