They do not.
They use the same loco for 0-6-0, 0-6-0T, and 2-6-2; I recently bought one of the 0-6-0s. Not only does it not have a DCC plug, it has a motor surrounded by the weight. I have not completely disassembled it, but the motor probably is not isolated from the frame/weight. The headlight and smoke unit pick up current from the 2 halves of the weight, so I assume the motor does also.
The decoder can be installed in the tender, but assuring complete isolation of the motor may be difficult. The motor is not that good also. If you want to get a good 0-6-0, go for the Proto 2000
Not only is there an issue if you are converting the locomotive to DCC, it’s also the case that the 2-6-2 was one of the least successful steam locomotive wheel arrangements. Very few class one railroads bought them. If you are modelling a prototype short-line that had them or your own ficticious short-line, it might not be a bad choice.
Bachmann’s 4-6-0, which does have the eight-pin plug in the tender, might be a better choice. I have one, it runs good, looks good, (at least to me), and is an amazingly good puller for a small locomotive. Like on most model steam locomotives, you will need to add additional electrical pick-ups to the tender wheels.
