Bachmann 2-6-6-2 with VC tender

Just started putting this latest offering from Bachmann through her paces and am very pleased with the outcome so far,While a tad light of foot on grades over 3% this mallet should hold her own on any grade below that.

Being smooth running and quiet makes it possible to have the sound turned down to a very low and pleasing volume. Detail is beautifully done so beware of one need’s to handle this locomotive with care as many details are very fine and quite fragile.IMHO It was money well spent

Good looking steamer there CB&O. On a flat bench what do you think she will pull? What is the prices range for the engine?

Cuda Ken

cudaken, according to the MR review of the eariler model they should pull 56 cars with free wheeling metal wheels on straight & level track.

Micromark has this on sale for $256 with free shipping

I just got one of these without sound, paid $220 at Peach Creek Shops - runs great. It is the same drive as the previous 2-6-6-2, I have 3 of those as well. Mine have no trouble with about 35 free rolling but slighly heavy (4.3 oz) cars up a slight grade of about 0.5%.

There is no room for more weight, but I’m going to give the Bull Frog Snot a try on these.

I love all 4 of mine - 2 are C&O, the other two are ATLANTIC CENTRAL.
