I thought it had kind of a “foreign” look to it:

'Built according to American standards by China’s Tangshan Locomotive Works in 1989, the SY 2-8-2 Mikado was originally owned by Essex Junction Railroad in Connecticut before being sold to the Susquehanna Railroad in the 1990s. Although steam is a rare treat in modern times, the SY can be seen in freight and fan-trip service today."
Cool! They’re running that loco now along the Jersey side of the Delaware River out of Philipsburg on the former Pennsy Bel-Del line. She’s pulling former LIRR commuter coaches.
As an aside, there was another member of that class headed to the US some years ago, but a freak storm sent the freighter she was on to the bottom of the ocean.
I’d be very interested if it came in N scale someday.
Here’s my video of 142 running west out of Lincoln Park, NJ, for their Railroad Days festival in '03. My friends & I stopped here on the curve at Towaco station for a runby shot after riding the previous trip. Unfortunately, the weather was miserable, and I didn’t have a tripod with me.

I bought the 142 version of the Bachmann SY around the same time, and it’s one of their best detailed locos. Even Howard Zane had one of these, just because he thought the detail was exceptional. Runs beautifully, but pulls better with a little weight added.
I don’t know what Bachmann has slated for this year. You could always ask the Bach Man.
The Bach Man seems to be very tight lipped. I did see on one thread that he’s hinting at a 4-6-0 dcc and Tsunami sound equipped loco. But no real hard evidence yet.
I was just curious if someone here might be “in the know”!!
I’d be very interested if ANYTHING came in N scale someday!
Anybody have any idea what happened to that tauted GG1 of almost six months expectatation now? It appears to have dissolved into vapor!
I know that Lee Riley has been taking some measurements off some locos down in West Virginia. No promises yet on any of the engines down there, but the 3 truck Climax was announced a few years back. Rumor states that he has been spotted in Cass with a tape measure and note pad, heading for the Climax Restoration Shop…
