Hi all-

A few of my passenger car windows have become loose and I need to open the car body to reglue. Anyone know how to easily open the body ?

I can’t be specific since I don’t have one but nearly all passenger cars have the roof and sidewalls as one piece or the floor and side walls as one piece. I grab both ends with my hands and LIGHTLY twist the ends in opposite durections. If the roof is separate you will see it separate from the side walls so you can get a fingernail between them to get them apart. If not then look for locking tabs or screws through the floor.

Easy? A 5/16ths drill and a firecracker…

They are not easily opened.

It’s not too hard, really. First, pop off the end diaphragms. Next, gently pry the sides at one of the ends of the passenger car body open (just over the trucks, where the latches are located) using fine flat-blades. The shell can then be pulled straight up from that point, and it will release the rest of the latches while you’re pulling.

While you’ve got it open, I would suggest painting the interior. Here’s a picture showing the correct colors:
