Bachmann Dynamis Digital Command Control Pro Box

Looks like it might be a good system… but I’d sure like to see all the DCC Product prices come down… they are all so expensive.
It’s a great way to control your trains… but ouch it hurts the wallet.

Seems for that price Pro Box, $450; Infrared receiver, $45; Handset, $150 ($645). You can get a better system like NCE PH-Pro R ($699) or DigiTrax Super Chief Xtra MSRP with Radio Option ($665).

I have used Atlas, MRC and now NCE PH-Pro R DCC and wish I would of just started out with the NCC.

Thanks for the review, I have the Basic set and am very content with it. I must say I bought the basic set for far less then the price in the States ( I live in the Netherlands and bought it in Germany ) and expect to get the Pro Box for around $ 300,- wich seems like a reasonable price. The 450,- is way to much I can buy a real ESU set for that. I am now in doubt however between getting the Pro Box or selling the basic system on and getting a Digitrax Super Chief system.

It appears that if you need to access CV codes you will need the pro box. The owners manual could have better instructions and illustrations. A DVD would be nice, but that would spill the beans and tell everyone the basic system needs the Pro Box, especially if you buy other than Bachmann Loco’s. I have found the complete Dynamis System, including the Pro Box for $ 372. US

Not to bad of a system, bit the infared is what really draws it down, you can not operate in bright light conditions, and the range is about 5 to 6 feet…
