Bachmann EZ Track #5 Turnout

I have a model train layout on a 5x9 sheet of plywood. My layout is made completely out of Bachmann EZ Track. I have the Bachmann crossovers on my layout and they work like a charm. I’ve never had any problems out of them. The problem I’m running into is with the Bachmann EZ Track #5 Lefthand Turnout. I just got it from my hobby store and there’s no way to connect a piece of EZ track to the part that branches off to the left. I’ve tried just about everything. The problem seems to be that the section of track that goes off to the left is too close to the part that stays straight, therefore, the roadbed from the tracks that you attach to the track will hit each other. Does anyone have a way to fix this problem without cutting the roadbed on a piece of track? Is there a different piece of track made just for this turnout? Please let me know. Thanks!

There should be an adapter included in the bubble pack. It looks like a 2" length of EZ-Track but with a diagonal ‘wedge’ taken out of one side of the ballast. That missing wedge allows you to join the next full length of EZ-Track with the coupling adapter section because the plastic ‘ballast’ on the turnout would otherwise interfere, as you are just learning. If it didnt’ come with your turnout, then you’ll have to get/order one.

Thanks for the reply. It did come with 1 piece of track, but it didn’t have the wedge taken out of it. :frowning: Is there a specific product number that I need to look up?
