A friend of mine dropped off a steam engine for me to look at, and possabley repair.
The center axle is a two piece half shaft with a square hole, that the quartered wheel slips into. Being these are exceptionaly loose, are they replacable or just a case of some glue to keep them in gauge and from slipping off.
The way its made, it looks to me it may be a cronic problem with this design?..Thanks in advance for your info…John

There are the Bowser chassis kits for many Bachmann steamers…
They are not repairable, there are very very few adhesives strong enough and that will stick to the plastics used. Those that work are EXPENSIVE, to the point of it being cheaper to replace rather than repair.
Well like they say nothing ventured nothing gained, Glued the loose drivers with Krazy glue and it has been running for and hour or so.
The owner did say he may have to go with the Browser kit, I know he cant afford it at this time, at least he can use it now.
