What am I doing wrong? My 4-4-0 struggles to pull two cars on level track, 25" radius. The 4-6-0 seems to be about the same weight and is an excellent puller for such a small locomotive.
I just purchased a 4-4-0 w/ sound. It runs great! steady slow speed and smooth starts. It pulled a ten car train without a problem. Looks great too!
Bachmann has provided the HO modeler with a variety of small good running and well detailed locomotives that are perfect for smaller home layouts.
Does any one know where I could get a 2-4-2T or 2-4-4T or any other small engine in HO? By the way, keep writing great reviews Dana!
I’ve got 4 of these with sound. They run like clocks and crawl like ants. I had two non-sound ones that were turkeys, why I don’t know. I sold one, Bachmann took the other one back, for exta money they’ll send you a sound equipped one back. Alabam Ray is right. Once you run sound, there is no going back. I only wish the default whistle was a louder one like Soundtraxx’s Southern Pacific 6-chime. And that Bachmann would quit putting the B&O 3-chime in every one of their sound equipped engines.
purchased two with didderent names. excellant sound and detailing but each starts at different volts, one derails on anything other than a straight level run, one derailed at different turnouts than the other. bachman says that is because the wheels are flanged on only one side and they will not go over a 2%grade. info not listed in the advertising. six other locos go where these do not but the sound and dcc are coaxing me to make layout adjustments. paid $159 plus ship
