Bachmann HO scale USRA 0-6-0 steam locomotive

hey it was published on my birthday!

Ben,

Could you offer a bit more about how it operates? I’ve been wondering whether the 2-6-2 version could be kitbashed into a decent version of the ATSF 1000 series 2-6-2 locomotive but need to know more about this model’s operating qualities. Does it run smoothly? How slow? How many cars will it pull? Is it just a toy?

Not only is it a good locomotive, it is a nice slow mover that is also smooth even on brass track, This product is one of the best switchers for under $50.

Also Christopher, The 2-6-2 idea is awsome I would go for it and I would try to look in other bachmann products because there’s lots. The slowest speed will be around 13 on the controler, mabey diffrent controlers would work better. If you get the 2-6-2 please post a review, I would really like to see if it will work as well.

Yes Christopher, it startes to operate at 15 on the bachmann dc controler and puffs smoke. It also has the best dc low speed operation and can pull about 10 cars of standard length. It is not a toy it will work well on dc layout. I also was going to get the 2-6-2, B and O roadname.

I wanted to get one, but my parents said, what cheap junk is he looking at now?

Its the first steam model I bought when I was 12 years old still the same model not much changes but a good starter steam loco.I’m forty now.
