I am thinking of starting on a scenic/tourist model railroad. I will be using a Bachmann 80 ton shay to pull the trains. If I was using Heavyweights, how many cars could I pull with the power of a shay?
Plenty. You could proably drag 15 or more depending on maker,. but touristy trains don’t usually number that high. Also, Shays usually Push as an anchor for the cars against Gravity. Some pull, but only for phot runbys. pushing keeps the smoke away form the open air cars, and from breaking couplers
Stupid question: Walthers Heavyweights? Spectrum Heavyweights? Athearn?
I haven’t found anything it can’t pull!
