Hello Again, Now that my caboose is finished, it’s time to start on my next project. [:D]This one will be a Diner Car. It started its life as a Bachmann passenger kit that someone chopped up for a project that never got finished and ended up on eBay. The exterior is complete but the interior was chopped, so I got busy on a new interior.
For the floor I used some scrap vinyl siding from an old home project. The color and molded in wood grain suit my needs and it is easy to work with. The heat stove was replaced with a cooking stove and several tables and chairs added. The furnishings are 1/24 scale doll house items. Not quite perfect for the 1/20.3 Bachmann but they fit inside well.
Here is the new interior on the chassis.
The weather is not good for painting today, so the final assembly and decals will have to wait. These last 2 photos show the unpainted body set in place to check fit and clearances. More photos coming as soon as the weather cooperates.
These pics don’t really relate to this project except that this is how I entertained myself today while the weather is no good for painting. This model boat has been sitting on my shelf collecting dust for years. I was looking for some freight ideas and decided the size might work. It is now mounted to the flat car with 2 screws. The chain is just for looks and is actually cheap costume jewelry supply that fits well in the flat cars stake pockets.
The sun finally came out and I got my diner car painted.
I also added some lettering to the boat while I was waiting on the weather.

those look great, I like the boat particularly. I would suggest adding some wood blocks on either side of the keel to hold the keel in place, this is what you would see when a boat was transported in reailty. Nice Job![:D]
Nice work!!! [:)]
