Bachmann Jouef HO Structures from the 1970's

I would like to know if the HO Jouef structures produced for Bachmann in the 1970’s could eventually go back into production by a HO model railroad company in 2005 or later, if the molds for the structures still exist. If these HO models were produced today, it would be similar to IHC producing old Tyco building kits. The HO Sunglass Factory was my favorite kit in the Bachmann-Jouef line. I would like to see an updated version of this classic structure in hobby shops and train shows today.

I won a HO Bachmann-Jouef Sunglass factory on Ebay just recently. I had one of these kits as a child in the 1970’s, but it got damaged beyond repair because I didn’t know how to assemble model kits at the time. I usually played with LEGO bricks, (a classic building toy) in the 1970’s. LEGO bricks don’t go too well with HO model trains.I didn’t realize the these Bachmann-Jouef kits would be so hard to find 30 years later (2005). The HO sunglass factory is a RARE kit to find today along with the other Bachmann-Jouef kits. I feel that these HO buildings should be resurrected by one of the current model railroad companies. (Bachmann is not interested in resurrecting these kits, because I emailed them and they said no. David Briel

I apologize for resurrecting such an old thread, but I’m wondering if this still holds true.

I was given a model train set which I have no interest in, nor do I know much about. Included in it were several Bachmann Jouef HO Scale Building Kits, brand new, still in the box and shrink wrap; including the sunglass factory.

Others are:

Meadowbrooke House, Gypsy Lane House, Rural Church, Nursery & Green House, and Westgate House. The last two do not have shrink wrap, but are still new in the box.

If these are worth something, I’d rather look to other avenues rather than just tossing the set up on facebook or in a garage sale.

Could anyone steer me in a direction?

Thanks in advance.

Bachmann Structures, they sure have changed over the years.

I was glad to see Bachmann bring back their Spectrum series buildings, now if they would only bring back the Bachmann Plus series. I was quite surprised to see just how detailed the Plus kits were.

Hi DAVEDBRIEL

Having only now seen your post .

It is not likely as Hornby now own the Jouef brand and Bachmann are one of Hornby’s competitors in the UK Market. I can’t see them making a product for a competitor.
